The market has apparently been around in one form or another since the 1640's and part of it turns into a flea market on Sundays which is when we were there (photo: bit.ly/2l0R7sy). Now if you have been to a few dozen of these markets across Europe like I have, this is likely not the one that will top your list as there was a certain lack of vitality to the whole area.

The Hötorget market hall is a great place for meats, fish, seafood, and cheeses, and there are a couple of nice places to sit down for meals too. Izmir have a few tables and there's complimentary Ayran for the guests. Stockholm has one popular farmer’s market, which you can find in Söder and Östermalm every Saturday from August to October and on some weekends in autumn and spring and at Christmas.
